Lou Calasibetta (The Old Stillwater Garage) puts together some of the most phenominal Rod, Customs & Restorations of any shop in the country ! He's truly an East Coast Legend.
Based in small town of Stillwater, New Jersey, Lou and his Crew create some Super Rides for their customers...but, Lou's personal cars are nationally-known and have appeared in almost every major magazine in print: Rod & Custom, Custom Rodder, Rodders' Journal, Car Kulture DeLuxe, and many others.
My first look at his "Surfari" came when I picked-up the March, 2002 Issue of Hemmings Rod & Performance. It's truly one of the most beautiful, well-crafted cars I've ever seen, and it just blew me away !
At the 27th Annual KKOA Lead Sled Specatacular in Salina, Kansas, in my one-on-one Interview with Lou, I asked him how the "Surfari" went from being an idea to a reality. Lou's explanation of the build, as well as the unusual, super-cool interior will give you a better understanding of all of the work that went into this rare, Pontiac Wagon. JK
