JEFF MYERS FANTASTIC '57 CHOP-TOP SEVILLE !

ONE OF THE INDUSTRIES HOTTEST Kustomizer's is Kansas-resident, builder-extraodinaire JEFF MYERS. In fact, you may have seen the feature spread on Jeff and this fantastic '57 Eldorado Seville in the December, 2008 issue of Street Rodder Magazine, and the Kansas "Koolsville/Beatnik" Konnection in Car Kulture DeLuxe, August, 2010, Issue #41, showing MANY of the cars Jeff's built...for himself and others.
Well, in this exclusive Interview, done at the KKOA Leadsled Spectacular in Salina, Kansas, Jeff & I sat down to hit on this Project: a rare, '57 Caddy Seville. And, during the next few minutes, you can hear Jeff tell the story of how this way-cool ride was put together !
You've seen Jeff's superb work over the last few years, but with this car he's taken his artistry to a whole new level. The Candy Wild Cherry/Black Cherry & flake paint is way kool, the chop is perfect, the Skylark Wires & Whitewalls set the whole thing off. AND, no, the rear windows aren't "slide-ins"...Jeff actually tooled them into working "roll-ups" ! You'll hear about the difficulty in accomplishing that during the Interview.
Jeff debuted his Eldo at Darryl Starbird's January 2008 Wichita Show. He's since had it at Starbird's Tulsa Show, The Lone Star Rod & Kustom Roundup, the WCK Santa Maria Cruisin' Nationals, the KKOA Lead Sled Spectacular in Salina, Kansas, the Detroit Autorama...and everywhere in-between ! It's become an Award Winner of the highest caliber, and a MasterPiece to be reckoned with ! JK

As for the Interior, Sean Johnston at "Fat Lucky's" (Austin Speed Shop), did what turned out to be a beautiful "Tribute-Style" upholstery job, in White Pearl, similiar to the one that the late Manuel Arteche' had accomplished in his personal '61 Invicta that I now own.
My sincere thanks to Jeff & Sean. Manuel would be honored to know that his lifelong craftsmanship, and history of being one of the Industries premiere upholsterers, still touches those that see it and remember him. JK

(Above left & Right: "The Invicta" with the Manuel Arteche'-crafted White Pearl Interior. A complete '63 Buick Riviera Interior, including the Console, was used in the Invicta. Notice the Black Plastic rectangle in the Invicta's Console ? It originally housed a miniature TV set.)

ONE FINAL SHOT: Jonnie King, and friend Steve Stanford, crusin' through the hall at Starbird's 44th Annual Tulsa Show in Jeff's Eldo. (NOTE TO JEFF: Always take your keys with you when you leave your vehicle !!)

Question: Just how RARE is a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville ? Compare these 1957 Production Numbers:
1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Hardtop Production: 2,100 Cars
1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2-Door Hardtop Production: 183,000 Cars
1957 Chevrolet BelAir 2-Door Hardtop Production: 166,000 Cars

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL: "The Invicta" is currently on permanent display at Darryl Starbird's National Rod & Custom Museum and Hall of Fame. If you've not been to this remarkable "jewel" of a Museum it is a "must see" attraction for all Car Buffs. If you're in Oklahoma, be sure visit there and tell Donna & Darryl that you read about it and heard about it right here on "The Hall Of Fame Legends Series" !
