FROM HIS HUMBLE BEGINNINGS in a small two-car garage, GEORGE BARRIS has had a career that has spanned more than 65 years. His title "King Of The Kustomizers" is well earned, and through the years he and I have discussed many, many topics in our Interviews and in this one I wanted to focus on his early years.
He, and his brother Sam, originally worked out of a small garage, and George and his friends at the time not only had fun in the building of street rods & kustoms, but had some excellent adventures on the streets of L.A. and the surrounding area !
Listen then as GEORGE BARRIS talks the exciting times of the late 40's which included street racing, avoiding the cops, and getting bullet holes in his street rod, and, how it all lead to hot rodding and building cars for Movies in the '50's and TV in the '60's !
NOTE: This is one Special Story that you'll want to share with your friends...make sure to give them a "heads-up" and tell 'em to Bookmark the Hall Of Fame Legends Site so they won't miss any of these fantastic stories by the pioneers & legends of the Rod & Custom Industry.
Many thanks....and, ENJOY ! JK
