ELDEN TITUS was not only a true friend to myself and all of those who loved kustoms with a "k", but one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. And, he died way too young in October of 2008.
Elden had been one of earliest Hall Of Famers that generously shared his history, thoughts, and, visions of future builds with me when I began doing Interviews for this Site in 2006. He told me at that time about a project that he and George Barris were going to be involved with. It was called "THE VIBRASONIC", and his vision for that beautiful, mind-blowing ride was really exciting ! And with Elden's vision & talent I knew that it would be a show-stopper from the word "GO" !
In addition, ALAN MAYES, Managing Editor at Car Kulture DeLuxe Magazine, had started a build-up of the Vibrasonic in that mag. and follwed its progress.
SADLY, although Elden had done some fantastic work getting the Vibrasonic build accomplished in 2007 & 2008, he had developed cancer. He struggled with every imaginable medical procedure, and, medication, fought hard, tried to continue work even though his immune system was severely compromised, but, ulitmately lost his battle on October 8, 2008. And, all work on the Vibrasonic stopped.
Toward the end of 2009, Elden's wife, Tammy, graciously gave the go-ahead for the car to be finished so that Elden's dream of this stunning vehicle could be realized. At that time, GARY MEYERS, who had worked with Elden for many years on some of his coolest builds, took on the job of managing the project...and a super-crew of Elden's friends came forward dedicated to getting the car completed.

"THE VIBRASONIC" made it's finished debut at Darryl Starbird's 48th Annual Tulsa Rod & Custom Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, February 17th, 2012...and was truly one of show's biggest attractions ! You could hardly get close enough to see it during most of the show ! If you think it looks good in the above pic at the Top of this Page...you oughta see it in person !!
Fittingly, I wanted to Interview Gary Meyers about, not only the Vibrasonic, but about his work with Elden through the years. BUT, most of all I didn't want to do the Interview without TAMMY TITUS, Elden's wife. It was important to me that Tammy's voice be heard because Elden & she had been together for so many years, had three wonderful boys, and was also the key factor in seeing that Elden's dream would come true.
I wanted Tammy's thoughts on Elden, his builds, his vision, and, her comments on the finished version of the Vibrasonic.
Tammy graciously agreed, and she, Gary, and, myself began recording the Interview when it dawned on me that the room we were using at the Tulsa Show was the exact same room that Elden & I had done our last Interview in on February 16th, 2008. I know his spirit was with us while we were there, and Tammy and Gary's comments were a true Tribute to one of the Industries finest builders & Hall Of Famers of all-time: ELDEN TITUS. JK
